People often ask me this question when they are looking for offices, or when they ring up to enquire about our offices to rent. So, what is a serviced office, and what do I get are the common questions and to be honest, if I was looking for an office to rent, those would be exactly the questions I;d be asking too!
So, let’s start with what is a serviced office? Well according to Wiki (and if it’s on there it’s obviously right eh?!) a serviced office is: An office or office building that is fully equipped and managed by a facility management company, also known as an office provider, which then rents individual offices or floors to other companies.
Well I think that is a rather good answer and sums it up well, although maybe not a complete answer for what an office of this type is. I also think a provider of serviced offices should ensure that any offices that it rents out is fully equipped with utilities and broadband, rather than you having to move in and start finding your own providers for these things and arranging installations etc which let’s be fair, take up a huge amount of time when you should be spending that time on your business. A serviced office should also offer cleaning of your office (ideally daily), so again you don’t have to take up too much of your valuable time doing stuff like this. It may or may nor offer a telephone answering service, but should definitely offer phones and phone lines; whether you want them it a different matter, but if they are available you can decide!
Then onto answer, well what do I get if I rent an office at Parkhill? Well, that is an easy one to answer and we want everyone who comes to Parkhill to stay with us, so we try and make the process of moving in as pain free and easy as possible. To start with, all of our offices are fully furnished, and all have some form of storage in there, whether it is a tall cupboard, small cupboard or long sideboard type unit, there is always somewhere for you to store those annoying bits and bobs you need but don’t always want on top of your desk. All offices are cleaned daily by our cleaning company and all rental prices include our super fast 1GB internet line, utilities and parking and on that subject, we have over 100 free car parking spaces onsite, plus an electric car charging point and bike sheds for those healthy people that cycle to work!. Your office rental costs also include unlimited refreshments which we provide and I have yet to meet anyone that can drink it faster than we can provide it, use of the facilitates onsite, which include meeting spaces, breakout areas and showers (again for those healthy people who cycle in, or go for a run in their lunch hour!) and use of the premises as a postal address. We can also provide landline phones free of charge, although you will have to pay for any calls you make, otherwise, our bills could be rather high!! We also have three meeting room onsite which are available to book for a small nominal fee, and again, refreshments for these meeting rooms would be provided free of charge. So all in all, not a bad office package really if we do say so ourselves!
Added to that you also get invited to the various events we run thought out the year including the annual Parkhill ski trip, various networking events and of course the Christmas ‘do’ so even if you work alone you can always have some company (if you want it) if you are based here.
